"Zephyr's Dance" captures the essence of the ethereal dance between wind and landscape, envisioned during an artist residency in the serene expanse of the Coorong. In this captivating painting, the viewer is invited to recline amidst the sprawling grasses, becoming enveloped in the rhythmic sway of the natural world.
The artwork comes alive with the elongated strokes of long grasses, their verdant hues imbued with vitality and movement. Each blade seems to stretch and bend in response to the gentle caress of Zephyr, the mythical Greek god of the west wind, whose unseen presence animates the scene.
Perspective plays a key role as the viewer's gaze is drawn into the very heart of the composition, where the horizon meets the heavens. Here, the sky rumbles with dynamic energy, mirroring the tumultuous yet harmonious interplay between earth and sky. Clouds roll and billow, propelled by the unseen force of the wind, while streaks of light break through, casting luminous patterns upon the landscape below.
About the Artist:
Tessa is an Intuitive Abstract Landscape Artist based in the Adelaide Hills. She is a big lover of colour and exploring unexpected colour pallets that contrast and bring new life to a composition.
Her heart has always been in the visual arts spectrum. After completing a Bachelor of Visual Communication she began a Graphic Design Internship with a sustainable design company. It was there she discovered that she wanted to get away from the computer screen and work with her hands, having always been passionate about spatial design.
She decided to further her studies and moved to Melbourne to study Visual Merchandising & Styling. After completing the course, she landed a job as a Designer & Project Manager for Melbourne a 3D branding agency and quickly progressed to Studio Manager within the company. Designing, managing projects, clients and staff, she learnt a range of life long skills that would translate into starting her very own creative business.
At the end of 2018 she moved back to Adelaide to be closer to family and worked in Property Styling and transitioned back in the exhibitions & events industry and had pursued art as a side business until very recently.
In 2020, personally and professionally things took a bit of a turn. Not only did the events industry completely shut down, Tessa had a health scare and was told to try and reduce stress as much as possible.
Art, having always been her love was the way she decided to do just that and as of March 2022 she decided to go full time with her art practice and give it the energy it deserved.
She mostly paints large scale acrylic on canvas pieces and has just begun dabbling in the urban art scene, painting murals and absolutely loving it.
